The Secret Lives of Teachers

March 1-April 2, 2010
Opening Reception: Friday, March 5, 5-7 p.m.
Jackson Street Gallery

The Secret Lives of Teachers is an exhibition of the artwork by the Visual Arts teachers at UHS. All four teachers are professional artists who have shown nationally and internationally in their fields. Matthew Scheatzle believes in a rigorous approach to visual pleasure while Jenifer Kent is inspired by systems and patterns of movement and growth. Gale Jesi’s work draws on the cultural resonance between disparate photographs and Danny Plotnick’s work mines the no man’s land between high and lowbrow art.

Please join the Arts Department on Friday, March 5th from 5-7 p.m. in the Jackson Street Gallery for a reception for the artists.  Refreshments will be served.

The artists and exhibit were recently featured on The Stark Guide.

Clockwise: Jenifer Kent, Burst (detail), 2010; Danny Plotnick, Still from Swingers' Serenade, 1999; Gale Jesi, Sign, Glasgow, Scotland; Matthew Scheatzle, Mt. Dide under Volland Skies, 2009.
