Leadership
Interim Head of School Nasif Iskander
The UHS Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Nasif Iskander will serve as Interim Head of School through June 30, 2026.
With over 30 years at UHS, Nasif first started in 1993 as a Physics teacher. For the past 20 years, he has served as a senior administrator in various roles, including Academic Dean, Dean of Faculty, Interim Head of School, and Assistant Head of School, all while staying connected to the classroom experience as a teacher.
Nasif was an integral part of the team that developed the UHS Vision and Values, which helped set the strategic direction of the school; he helped develop our academic governance model, ensuring predictable and reliable ways for the school to make decisions collaboratively; he drove the centralization of the school’s focus on equity and inclusion as part of its professional model of teaching; and he spearheaded efforts to develop a culture and resources for data-driven institutional decision making, including developing the school’s longitudinal study of student belonging.
As the proud parent of a UHS alum (James `22), Nasif has a personal connection to this exceptional community. With his decades-long tenure, vast experience, and enduring relationships, the Board has unwavering confidence in Nasif’s ability to lead us through this transitional period. Nasif will be working closely with our outstanding administrative team to ensure continuity and oversight across all of our institutional, academic, and programmatic areas.
