Dine11 was started in Los Angeles just about eight weeks ago by the family of SFUHS alumna Ella Pearl ‘11, in response to the Covid-19 crisis. Dine11 SF shifted its focus of support from healthcare workers (which is what it is in LA) to organizations in SF that support families in need. Once they started poking around to determine need, they found that San Francisco’s most vulnerable citizens were facing a real food crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and the organizations that support those families were struggling to meet their needs.

Their first week in SF, they purchased 615 meals from Nopa and Spruce and delivered them to Raphael House, Sunset Youth Services, The Homeless Prenatal Program, and the SF VA Hospital. They launched their fundraising efforts and made enough money to go two more weeks of 1,000 meals a week and now have a website, an Instagram account, a fiscal sponsor for donations, and a national team of other Dine11ers in LA, NYC, Long Island and Marin.

They have had a full schedule, purchasing meals from Delfina, Piccolo Forno, Starbird Chicken, Organic Coup, Inle Burmese, Nourish, Franny’s Kitchen, Spruce and Nopa. Our volunteers (3 of them UHS students/alum) delivered meals to Rafael House, Sunset Youth Services, The Homeless Prenatal Program, Hamilton Family Center, Epiphany Center, FACES, Rita de Cascia, Compass, and the Boys and Girls Club. And they now have more organizations and restaurants waiting in the wings.

They want to keep this going as long as it's needed and need more funding so they can continue supporting restaurants AND hungry families.

Here’s how your donation will stack up.
