The UHS Music Department is Proud to Present: The Spring Music Projects Recitals!

  • WHERE: The UHS Theater
  • WHY: Who doesn’t want to listen to the musical stylings of our illustrious UHS Music Department? On Monday and Tuesday, April 24-25, the UHS Flute Choir, Yoshi’s Jazz Combo, and the Friday Afternoon Music Group (all led by Terrence Brewer) will take the UHS stage to show us what they’ve been working on this semester.

On Monday, April 24 during lunch, The UHS Flute Choir, featuring Anika Gandhi ’24, Bryce Hoenigman ’24, Serina Jain ’24, Amelia Kwon ’24, Skye Hsu ’25, Jasper Chan ’26, and Emilia Zhang ’26, will perform excerpts from Carmen and Merry Go ‘Round of Life.

On either Monday, April 24, after school, or Tuesday, April 25, during lunch, the Friday Afternoon Music Group will surprise us with a piece of their choosing! The FAMG is Jayden Ly ‘25 – Piano, John Michael Mulcahy ‘25 – Guitar, Max Glen ‘25 – Guitar, Quinn Sampson ‘25 – Bass, and Brandon Liu ‘25 - Drums

Then, on Tuesday, April 25 during lunch, Yoshi’s Jazz Combo will play original and classic jazz standards by Duke Jordan and Clifford Brown. The YJC features Purple Peterson ’23 – Clarinet/Bass Clarinet, Callum Nelson ’23 – Tenor Sax, Annika Peterson ’23 – Trumpet, Jonas Rosenman ’24 – Trumpet, Adam Zaidi ’24 – Piano, Wilder Kagay ’25 – Bass, and Jacob Shaul ’26 – Drums.

 This event is open to friends and family and admission is FREE! So, make sure you go to the Theater during lunch and after school to check out their incredible work!
