San Francisco University High School junior, Mericel, attended the 2020 Kode with Klossy code camp this summer. With a mission to create learning experiences and opportunities for young women that increase their confidence and inspire them to pursue their passions in a technology-driven world, Kode with Klossy welcomes girls ages 13-18.
Mericel entered a contest open to all high schoolers across the country who participated in the 2020 Kode With Klossy program. The assignment? Redesign the landing page of EsteeLauder.com, focusing on Karlie’s Pure Color Envy Lipstick campaign. Mericel put her love and talent for coding up against thousands of entries from other young women who attended the coding camp. The judges, global creative and communications executives from Estee Lauder, chose Mericel’s entry as the winner. Estee Lauder notes, “Her thoughtful, minimalistic-yet-impactful website caught our judges’ eyes thanks to its attention to detail, elegant interactivity, and use of the full suite of imagery provided for the project.”
