Financial Aid Mission Statement
The San Francisco University High School financial aid program empowers us to build and sustain an excellent learning community. We commit to seeking and enrolling students from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds and meeting their financial needs to ensure that they can engage fully in the UHS experience.
About the Student Endowment for Financial Aid
The Student Endowment for Financial Aid (SEFA) was created by the 2003-2004 UHS Student Council Student Diversity Committee to support the school’s financial aid program. The endowment was designed to give students at UHS a part in promoting equity within their own community, a tradition that continues to thrive in many ways today. Two gifts were made that year to launch the fund, one from the student group Moving on Racial Equality, and the other from the Class of 2004, announced at their commencement ceremony. Endowed funds are retained and invested for income-producing purposes. Income generated by SEFA is restricted to financial assistance for current students. Last year, 99 of 410 University students received $3.2M in financial aid, from SEFA and the Annual Fund.
Reunion Class Gifts Will Be Matched
A generous matching gift pledge of $25,000 has been made by Jennifer Huret Dulski ’89 and her husband, Len, in support of the Financial Aid Program at UHS. Jen is a valued member of the UHS community and a close friend of Summerbridge. She served as a Summerbridge SF teaching fellow and went on to become the founding director of Summerbridge Pittsburgh. Jen will match every Class Gift donated to the Student Endowment for Financial Aid in conjunction with reunion up to $25,000.
Make a gift today of any amount in honor of the teacher, coach, parent, or friend who made your UHS experience memorable.
If you were a recipient of financial aid and would like to share your story with the community to help raise money for current and future students, please email Marianna Stark '89, director of alumni engagement and giving, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
