Spring 2020 Seniors
Recognizing Our Spring Senior Athletes
There really are no words to express our sadness that 56 members of the University Class of 2020 had their final high school athletic season taken away by the Covid-19 situation and necessary shelter-in-place orders. We will never know what highs and lows would have been experienced this spring, but we do know that you were all totally prepared and incredibly excited about the goals you had set, the teammates you would partner with in pursuit of those goals and the memories that would have been created during your team’s adventure.
While we are powerless to change this situation, we can take the time to appreciate and celebrate you for the careers that you have had and the student-athletes you have become. We are so very proud of each and every one of you and hope that the pictures and words below will help you realize that, while your journey as a Red Devil athlete may have ended prematurely and disappointingly that it was still a journey well worth taking.
On behalf of all of your coaches, Ryan, Elizabeth, Duncan, Reece and Pete,
Jim Ketcham
UHS Athletic Director
Badminton
Tulasi Holdridge
"Chief Operating Officer - Tulasi keeps us steered in the right direction before and after winning her matches." - Victor Leung, Head Coach
"I have been moved in the last year by Tulasi’s willingness to give whatever she could. When able, Tulasi was playing through pain to achieve league and section distinctions, and when she couldn’t, Tulasi was a constant source of knowledge and guidance for her younger teammates. This generosity-of-spirit is something to treasure." -Whitney Baron, Asst. Coach
"Tulasi brings so much of herself to the badminton program which she so clearly loves. How can a program not succeed with people like Tulasi bringing everyone together." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"Tulasi has been a responsible captain and endearing friend to us all. She cares deeply for the team and excels at bringing us closer. Love you so much!" - Badminton Captains
Catherine Ko
"Chief Technical Officer - Catherine wrote the code for NCS medals; a gold, a bronze and a third medal was in order." - Victor Leung, Head Coach
"It is remarkable to me how unfazed Catherine is by tough competition. Rather than becoming more frustrated or mistake-prone as the level of her opponents increase, Catherine’s intensity always rises to meet the challenge. That exemplary fearlessness is an attribute I know we all respect." -Whitney Baron, Asst. Coach
"Catherine is part of a long line of athletes that have helped the Badminton program keep adding to its incredible string of league titles. Her focus and coachability are distinctive." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"Catherine is an inspiring captain, energetic teammate, and knee pushup god. You’ve made our days brighter for four epic seasons, and we’ll all miss you so much!" -Badminton Captains
"I miss my teammates and am grateful that we got to experience a taste of what our season could’ve been… nothing short of amazing:,) Go Devils 666🤪 UHS Badminton forever❤" - Catherine Ko
Sam Kominowski
"Head of H.R. - Sam is H.appiest R.unning drills and H.e R.egrets missing a year." - Victor Leung, Head Coach
"I think we are all often buoyed by Sam’s exuberance. In the serious pursuit of improvement it can be understandable to lose a little bit of the joy amid the necessary repetition, but Sam’s unfailing ‘I’m happy to do this (hard) work because it’s making me better’ attitude reminds us why we dedicate ourselves in the first place. Each day is an opportunity to enjoy the hard work of getting better." -Whitney Baron, Asst. Coach
"I will always be impressed by your Fry's Guys effort, but also know that you truly were a valued part of the Badminton program." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"Sam brought dedication and love for the sport from day one. It’s been awesome to see you grow as a player, even while abroad! You’re a boys singles star and a great fake captain :D" -Badminton Captains
"I’ve played baseball and badminton, and badminton is better. #15yearleaguechamps" -Sam Kominowski
Eva Krueger
"Chief Investment Officer - Eva's heavy investment in hard work paid off in NCS gold, and a title defense was in order." - Victor Leung, Head Coach
"I will miss Eva’s consistency on court. The strong foundation built through unwavering effort in practice, coupled with steady decision-making in matches meant that I never had to doubt that Eva would be giving the same focused effort on Match Point as she would on the first point (or any in between). This dependability is such an asset." -Whitney Baron, Asst. Coach
"Rarely have we seen a better example of the Red Devil athletic program success model: work hard/have fun and good things happen. Congratulations, Eva!" - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"Eva has been one of my favorite people to play doubles with (dream team!). We will miss all the fun you brought to the team and your strong leadership! #babycarrots" -Badminton Captains
Emily Lai
"Head of Record Keeping - Emily won the deciding games in two-thirds of our matches to keep our undefeated record intact." - Victor Leung, Head Coach
"I admire the number of close matches that Emily gutted out through the course of her UHS career, especially those against even competition in a must-win role. These are notable not because these situations were psychologically easy or tactically straightforward, but because I know that Emily felt the gravity of those moments and still persevered. This resilience is worth remembering." -Whitney Baron, Asst. Coach
"I first got to know Emily as a GJV BB player who was a constant thorn in the side of her opponents. But she really hit her stride with the Badminton program and has been such a huge part of their incredible success these past three years." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"Emily has brought so much fun and good cheer to UHS badminton. We will all miss her humor and love for the team!" -Badminton Captains
"I’m so thankful for the bonds, connections, and friendships I’ve made on this team. I’ll miss all the spirit and love that badminton gave." -Emily Lai
Baseball
Karam Khanna
"KK worked to become a starter on the team. He could have given up like many do, however, his tenacity would not allow him to. At the time play was suspended, he had started every game and he was leading the team in hitting, batting .500." - Rich Weidinger, Head Coach
"Karam came into his own this year at the plate. He was always scary when he stepped into the box, but this year he got big hits and rbis at every opportunity." -Barney Evans, Asst. Coach
"I feel especially badly that KK did not have the chance this year to reap the hard work he had put in over his time with the baseball program. Success does not always come quickly and it only comes to those who persevere. KK--I hope you know that your perseverance would have paid off had this year been able to continue." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"KK was the ultimate team player. His commitment to the team along with his consistent work ethic was an example for all of us." -Baseball Captains
"What I’m going to miss most about playing baseball at UHS are the little moments of downtime we had that turned us from individuals to a team." -Karam Khanna
Jacob MacGregor
"Jacob was a two year starter. Defensively, he was the best first baseman in the conference. He repeatedly made defensive "gems" plays that would save the day for us. He was a very admirable team leader who was respected by all. He will be sorely missed." -Rich Weidinger, Head Coach
"Jacob worked hard and sacrificed for the team. He became a leader on and off the field and a consistent player at an essential position." -Barney Evans, Asst. Coach

"After four years playing baseball at UHS, I will most miss the camaraderie. There’s nothing like it and while there were ups and downs every moment was precious. Go Devils." -Jacob MacGregor
Sam Pasco
"Sam was a starter at UHS since his freshman year. Unfortunately, he lost a lof of his playing time trying to stay healthy. However, he still developed to his envisioned potential. This year he was batting in the clean up spot of the order and he was capable of playing all positions but catcher." -Rich Weidinger, Head Coach
"Sam has a lot of talent and was a force in the middle of the lineup. He also pitched a gem for our first win of the season." -Barney Evans, Asst. Coach
"Sam had great moments and some tough moments as is part of the deal with competitive athletics. What I will remember Sam for is his ability to respond and not lose confidence in himself. This attribute would have resulted in a fantastic senior season, I believe, but will also serve you well, Sam, in all future endeavors." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"Sam brought his love of sports in general and baseball in particular to the team. He showed us what fun and success can come from pursuing the things that make you happiest." -Baseball Captains
"I began as the freshman phenom. Over four years I played all around the diamond with beloved championship caliber teammates. I’m now looking to #WalkOn at UPenn." -Sam Pasco

Sebastian Fischer
"You fence with such enthusiasm! I have enjoyed having you in both the classes and on the team. Your supportive coaching style was a tremendous boon to our new freshman and will be felt for years to come."-Susie Smith, Head Coach

"I deeply appreciate the sense of community and athletic motivation the fencing team has given me these few years, and I was delighted to be able to lead it in 2020." -Sebastian Fischer
Rohan Vasishth
"Thank you for your tenacious soul! You are strong and compassionate. I admired how you pushed younger fencers to think strategically. Your battle cries over the years will be remembered." -Susie Smith, Head Coach
"Rohan is nothing if not memorable. He so thoroughly enjoyed fencing and the team environment that it is hard to imagine how to fill the void that he will leave. That is the sort of problem that all athletes should create for their coaches!" - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"As captain, Rohan brought a special sense of humor, lightheartedness, and joy to the team, not to mention fencing ability." -Sebastian Fischer
Ever Marinelli
"Thank you for being a thoughtful, positive and encouraging leader. I especially enjoyed your victories your freshman year against Convent. It was a lesson in tactics and strategy and a tale of things to come. You are the epitome of a player coach." -Susie Smith, Head Coach

But what I will always remember you for is your selfless commitment to our fencing program. I look forward to following your college career at Harvard." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"An internationally ranked fencer, Ever has substantially boosted to our team and has given us a unique peek into the life of high-level fencing."-Sebastian Fischer, Team Captain

"I am so glad you found your athletic niche with the fencing program. Your contributions there were substantial." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"Jessie's fenced competitively on our team for four years, and has always been a delight at practices and games. Thanks for contributing to our team and girl's lineup!" -Sebastian Fischer, Team Captain
Golf
Dante McDermott
"From Dante's sophomore year to his junior year he did a complete 180. I saw a change in him as an individual, a golfer and a leader, that I have not seen before. He showed maturity and developed a leadership quality that helped him his Junior year to have one of the best seasons that I have seen in my 6 years of coaching at UHS. He was a huge part of why our team went undefeated his Junior year. After witnessing this, I knew he would be captain of this team his Senior year. It was a shame his Senior year was cut short but I am honored for being able to coach him and I know he will be successful in whatever he chooses to do." -Billy Reibel, Head Coach
"Dante came into the program as a very strong golfer and you certainly have had many great moments on the course. But we are also very proud of the increasing way you have developed the capacity to lead, support and motivate your teammates. That is a skill that will serve you in so many powerful ways in your future endeavors. Congratulations!" - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"Dante has grown so much as a golfer over the past four years and also as a leader and friend. He is consistently the most supportive teammate and person around." -Gavin McDonell, Team Captain
Gavin McDonell
"Gavin was one of the most humble, intelligent, emotionally tough golfers that I have coached at UHS. He was and is the definition of a UHS student/athlete. He came in his Freshman year and advanced to NCS as an individual. He helped lead us to back to back undefeated seasons and was consistently putting up scores that helped us win those matches. I challenged him his Junior year to be the player and leader I knew he was and just like any great athlete, he rose to that challenge and succeeded. I was really looking forward to seeing what he was going to do his Senior year, a third undefeated season, a D2 or D1 championship berth? We will never know, however, I am grateful for the time we had and I know he is going to be successful." -Billy Reibel, Head Coach
"The rise of the golf program over the course of Gavin's time here is no coincidence. He was a strong and ever improving player who seemed to play his best at the most important moments. And he emerged as a compelling leader who thought first of his teammates and encouraged them to follow his lead with both a seriousness of purpose and a capacity to have fun." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"My favorite thing about the golf team, besides the lifelong friends I made, is how we consistently improved each season. By my junior year, we went undefeated in all matches and finished 2nd in the section." - Gavin McDonell,
Girls Lacrosse

"Diana radiates confidence and positivity on and off the field. Your love for the game and working hard was a joy to watch. I have no doubts you're going to have a successful college career!" -Mia Cambi, Asst. Coach
"What a great Red Devil you have been! You have been an absolute force in FH and Lacrosse both with your great play on the field and your charismatic leadership. It is tough to follow in the footsteps of a terrific older sibling, but you have more than lived up to that legacy. Finally, what is especially memorable to me is that you have done all of this with a selfless attitude that always focuses on the team. Being on a team is one of the best experiences I have had at UHS and I will be forever grateful to all my captains and coaches!" -Diana Dean
Arden Haggin
"Arden is the definition of "GRIT". The standards she set for herself on the field despite the discomfort/pain she played with pushed her teammates to dig a little deeper to emulate her stoic demeanor on the field." -Rob Salmon, Head Coach
"Arden is a fighter and showed her strength by playing through pain. Whether you were on the field or on the sideline, you motivated the teammates in practice and in games. I wish you the best of luck and I know you'll be successful in all aspects of your life." -Mia Cambi, Asst. Coach
"Thank you Arden for all of your contributions. We know that your athletic path has not been easy. That only makes your determination to improve and your commitment to your teammates more impressive. You were poised to have an incredible senior season and we wish you nothing but the best going forward." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"Arden is the best kind of teammate to have on the field because not only does she work hard and continue to push the team, she is a positive force who constantly makes everyone laugh and smile. She is amazing at lifting the team up when they are all down and will always push people to do their best. I loved playing with her for 4 years and I know I have learned so much from her as a friend and a leader. I am going to miss her jokes and top corner shots more than anything!" -Diana Dean, Team Captain

We also truly appreciate the way you have embraced our athletic program goals and been so supportive in that area as well." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director

"Maud is one of the most dedicated people I know. She is constantly striving to better herself and the team and she is an amazing leader. I am so lucky to have been able to be on a team with someone as hardworking and kind as her!" -Diana Dean, Team Captain
Jada Northover
"Jada was a late addition to the team and was flawless in the transition from basketball to lacrosse. She is a steady defender who relishes the toughest jobs, whether chasing down ground balls or sliding to help another defender. Her presence on defense is best described as quiet confidence." -Rob Salmon, Head Coach
"Jada jumped into the season without missing a beat! She was a great addition to our defense and proved she was a hard worker right out of the gate." -Mia Cambi, Asst. Coach
"Jada, you have so many strengths, but the one I will remember the most is your competitive toughness. You simply do not back down or shy away from the moment. Your self-belief and willingness to step up, always within the team concept, are attributes that will serve you well in all your future endeavors." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"Jada has grown tremendously over the past four years on the lacrosse field. She’s tenacious, hard working, and refuses to give up. She’s a blast to warm up with and her basketball jukes are greatly appreciated." -Arden Haggin, Team Captain
Swimming
Aidan Boyle
"Aidan Boyle’s unassuming talent, precision and determination are a secret weapon of the Devil Fish. His unyielding speed and impeccable technique sneak up on his opponents and speak volumes." – Jenny Kline, Head Coach
"A verified stoic, Aidan is never phased by any kind of adversity that comes his way. Don't let his measured emotions deceive you, there is fire behind those eyes." -Walter Eggert, Asst. Coach
"Aidan was such a steady, consistently improving swimmer. His impact grew and grew each year and he never seemed to make a big deal about that. This understated style of performance and contribution is such a great approach for being valued in life. Who would not want an Aidan Boyle on their team!" - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"Aidan has been a dedicated swimmer with a persistent drive for improvement. I especially appreciate the humor, kindness, and encouragement he has brought to every practice and meet!" -Uma Kumar, Team Captain
Tom Newbold
"Tom Newbold moved from track to swimming as a sophomore and never looked back. His extraordinary work ethic and determination to perfect his strokes made him indispensable teammate and leader." -Jenny Kline, Head Coach
"A leader, role model and hard worker. Get up and go again, precise form, great listener and infallible leadership. A rock, defining the meaning of team. A swimmer indeed." -Erin Hoffman, Asst. Coach
"Tom---to twist your own quote just a bit, when you feel like giving up, but keep going, it means you will ultimately prevail. This is one of the key attributes of just about any remarkably successful person. I will be excited to follow your progress where ever you decide to go." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"Tom never fails to keep a sense of humor, and his gradual improvement in swimming blows me away. He is a talented athlete, honest leader, and a true friend." -Ana Roudebush, Team Captain
"When you feel like giving up but keep going it means you’re getting better" -Tom Newbold
Eloise Burtis
"Eloise Burtis is the epitome of maturity, versatility and boundless desire to refine her skill and rally the team. Her relentless spirit inspires us all to embrace the physical and mental work of swimming fast." – Jenny Kline, Head Coach
"A true leader, Eloise's actions inspire others to dream more, do more, and become more. She's never afraid, never in a hurry, never distracted, and always persistent. Eloise leads from the front."-Walter Eggert, Asst. Coach
"I second all that is being said about Eloise in the pool. But I think my most powerful memory will be of her irrational optimism that she could both swim and play volleyball. Eloise built her skills through outside volleyball and rose to the occasion in the critical position of setter--leading the team to multiple league titles. Never let anyone tell you what you can and cannot do, Eloise. Well done!" - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"What I will miss most from UHS Athletics is the deep sense of community that came from being a part of both the volleyball and swim teams. I will forever cherish memories made while traveling, playing and practicing with my teammates" -Eloise Burtis
Alexa Fisher
"200/500 Free is not for the faint of heart, but Alexa’s consistent, unyielding strokes devour the yards as without effort. On deck her iconic Cheese is contagious and motivates her teammates to glorious success." – Jenny Kline, Head Coach
"Always smiling and bringing the team together. Joking through the hard stuff while pushing through, inspiring others to work harder. Infectious laughter and strongest supporter of her team." - Erin Hoffman, Asst. Coach
"Distance swimming is pain personified. Yet no one would ever describe Alexa as anything but a ray of sunshine. Very cool." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"Alexa has been a consistently positive presence on the UHS swim team. Her cheerful spirit and laughter has made meets, practices, and team travel so much fun." -Eloise Burtis, Team Captain
"I am going to miss the feeling post-meet where everyone is exhausted but feels a communal sense of making it through yet another competition. I am going to miss more than anything having the whole team together since it was truly a bond that even though swimmers race individually it more than anything is a team sport and you need the enthusiasm of your teammates, who I will deeply miss." -Alexa Fisher
Uma Kumar
"Uma Kumar’s quiet power and grace under pressure is a beauty to behold. A model of determination, hard work and persistence, she is both kind and fierce–a joyful and tenacious competitor. – Jenny Kline, Head Coach

"Swimming has been the most fulfilling part of my UHS experience. I am proud of our many achievements (three league titles!) and grateful for the support of such amazing people." - Uma Kumar
Ana Roudebush
"Ana Roudebush is an electrifying force in the water. An irrepressible fire in her belly fuels her prodigious commitment to train and take risks. She is a formidable athlete and a warm, compassionate teammate." – Jenny Kline, Head Coach
"Committed and passionate, Ana welcomes the chance to put the team on her back. She understands success doesn't occur before hard work. Ana is the only person I would want standing on the block to close out a tight relay race." -Walter Eggert, Asst. Coach
"What a force you have been in our swim program! I know that MA and Lick will be so glad to see you and your classmates graduate after you have owned the league since you all came to UHS. Ana, your unique contributions have extended well beyond the amazing swimmer you have become. Your competitive drive is infectious and you should never fail to use this skill in all that you choose to pursue going forward." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"Your determination and passion for whatever you are trying to work towards, whether it be in the pool or out in the world fighting for things you believe in, shines through in every single thing that you do. I adore how incredibly dedicated and focused you can get and also your humor. I cannot wait to get to see you in your next chapter of your life and you can count on me being there cheering at the NYU bleachers at your future college meets. Much love for you Ana :)" - Alexa Fisher, Team Captain
"I appreciate the friendships I’ve gained through UHS swimming— many of which I’ll maintain long after UHS. A great team is what makes swimming the best sport ever!" -Ana Roudebush
Boys Tennis
Cameron Ehsan
"It is my disappointment that I did not find a way to get Cam to join the tennis program before senior year. He has real talent and showed a great combination of competitiveness and positive energy that truly added to our team environment." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"What a path you are on, Cam----an undergrad/medical path at Brown that is ridiculously hard to get into and will take you through this decade! I am not at all surprised and super-confident that you will take full advantage of this amazing opportunity." - Ryan Chisolm, Associate Athletic Director
Declan Herrera
"Declan was a leader in the greatest period of UHS boys' tennis ever. In 2019, he took it upon himself to lead his doubles team to the match deciding victory in the NCS title match. And his entire team knew that he would do exactly that." - Ryan Chisolm, Associate Athletic Director
"As both Declan's Coach and AD, I am most proud of his development from a strong player into a strong leader. He took this role extremely seriously and it showed in his attitude and team-wide impact. A likely 3rd consecutive NCS title was a virus-victim, but I know that Declan will not remember this as much as he will the great moments he helped make possible on the way to UHS' first ever NCS tennis titles." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Coach
Boys Lacrosse
- Nico Altree
- Marco Ariowitsch
- Jack Edwards
- Paris Gakuba
- Ben Hunt
- Fin Martin
- Julian McWilliams
- Sami Muduroglu
- Max Solmssen
Nico Altree
"Nico has done nothing but get better. He was a quick student of the game and was learning a ton every practice. He also did his part tom be n shape and was extremely coachable. These qualities will take him far in life." -Braden Edwards, Head Coach
"Nico has been a pleasure to coach over the past three years and I am so happy that he stepped right into our program and showed everyone what "being in shape" looks like. Thank you for leading every sprint Nico and for working your tail off to improve your shooting and stick work. Keep that work ethic with you forever. "-Parker Brown, Asst. Coach
"Congrats Nico on being such a positive part of our athletic program. Your coaches and teammates all share the feeling that they are fortunate to have had you with them. That is a great reputation to have earned!" - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
Marco Ariowitsch
"Marco wanted a chance not to be a goalie and we agreed to give him that opportunity, but two days into practice, the starting goalie went down with a blown out acl. The next practice, Marco grabbed the goalie gear and jumped in the cage. To me, thats a world class team mate. He never complained, and jumped right back in the goal. We should all learn from Marco. "-Braden Edwards, Head Coach
"Marco is one of the most team-first players I have ever coached. He stepped right into a starting goalie position this year when Sami got injured with no hesitation. I know that bouncing between midfield and goalie is not ideal, so thank you Marco for showing everyone what team-first looks like. If you embrace that mentality going into college and work, good things will happen." -Parker Brown, Asst. Coach
"Thanks, Marco, for being such a selfless and coachable player. I love hearing the coaches talk about your commitment to help the team in any way that you can. You should be proud of your contributions and the approach you have taken as a Red Devil lax player." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
Jack Edwards
"Hard to write this as you are my son. Coaching ones child isn't easy and I am sure it's not easy for his teammates, you or others. My proudest moment coaching you is when we stressed how important it was to ride, and you got trucked by a D guy trying to clear the ball. You showed grit and moxy." -Braden Edwards, Head Coach
"I have known Jack since he was a little kid when he used to come to our practices, and I am so proud of the player and person he has become. He has worked extremely hard to get to where he is today, and I know this season was going to be his best yet. Keep up the hard work in college Jack. Thank you for being a great leader and role model for the younger guys on the team." -Parker Brown, Asst. Coach
"Jack---as sad as I am for all the seniors losing this last season, I am perhaps most sad for you. I know this was going to have been an absolute break-through year for you and you would have deserved it for all the hard work that you have put in over the years. Best of luck going forward and thanks for being such a great Red Devil!" -Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
Paris Gakuba
"Paris and I learned from each other in 2019. There were times I doubted him, and there were times I am sure he doubted me, but in 2020, the two of Us did a better job of figuring each other out and we were preparing to kick ass together. The young man is a leader and can do whatever he wants to do. Knowing that our abbreviated season ended with him having the OT winning goal is awesome." -Braden Edwards, Head Coach
"I am really impressed with how Paris stepped up as a Captain this year. This was going to be a statement year for Paris and it kills me that the season was shut down prematurely. Paris--take all of the lessons learned over the past four years and hold on to the ones that made you successful as a leader. Bring those with you to Tufts and show them what UHS Lacrosse is all about!" -Parker Brown, Asst. Coach
"Paris---I have been so impressed with your development across all dimensions. Of course, your on field play has improved and that is awesome. But the growth in your level of responsibility, accountability and leadership has just astounded me. Congrats on all your hard work and keep it going. It will make all the difference as you take on challenges in the future of all kinds." -Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
Ben Hunt
"Big Ben. In 2019 Big Ben asked me after practice if we could talk about a heated practice between me and the players. I said sure. He said, "Coach, Paris is our leader and you need to find a way to work with him." He was right, and in 2020 we had a better relationship and that was in large part due to Big Ben. Big B. Thanks for having the strength to come address that with me." -Braden Edwards, Head Coach
"Thank you for all of your hard work over the past three years Ben. It has been great to watch you grow as a player and person. Keep that work ethic into college and good things will happen! Good luck Big B!" -Parker Brown, Asst. Coach
"Congrats, Ben, on all your contributions to the lacrosse program. Your passion and level of care are obvious and you have the courage to speak up which is a great attribute to have." -Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
Fin Martin
"Known this kid since he was a puppy. Overcame a serious knee injury and he is an absolute animal. Love how hard he plays and value his opinion more than he knows. Never loose that edge Finn. You are a beast and a pleasure to coach." -Braden Edwards, Head Coach
"I will really miss coaching Fin. He gave everything he had during games and practices. I hope that he knows that I think he is one of the best players in California and I hope he continues playing lacrosse for a long time because the game needs more players like Fin. Bring the same attitude you have on the field into every day life. Don't settle for anything less! -Parker Brown, Asst. Coach
"Losing two seasons to injury and this virus are terrible breaks. Especially for you, Fin, as I believe you would have been one of the greatest players in our school's storied lacrosse history. Keep pushing forward. These sort of breaks do tend to even out and you certainly have some good breaks coming to you." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director

You are a loyal teammate to our guys and that will never go unnoticed in life Sammy." -Braden Edwards, Head Coach
"You learn the most about a person when they are going through a tough time, and we learned this spring that Sami is a great teammate and person. "During my junior year, we had a home game against a team from Menlo-Atherton. We were all a bit tense beforehand, because for the last 2 years, this team has beaten us by a large margin. In fact, our freshman year, we played this team on our Big Red Friday, and lost by more than 10 goals. However, this year, we rallied together and pulled out a great win, and everyone on the team was hyped. It was a great moment, and validated how far all of us had come since freshman year." -Sami Muduroglu

You are the type of kid that we just cannot replace." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director

Once you know that you can push yourself to go even higher, you will do that." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"I’ve known Devan for most of my life, from kindergarten until now, and he has always been such a genuine, hard-working guy. I really respect his worth ethic and am so proud of all the opportunities he has earned for himself." -Clay Mills, Team Captain

"Elise, it was always a pleasure to coach you and have you as part of our track family. I believe your senior year could have been one of your best!" - Kevin Cruikshank, Asst. Coach
"Elise is another multi-sport athlete that made contributions across different programs. It is such a shame that she did not get the chance to add her talents to the already incredibly talented senior girls T&F class." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director
"Elise packs a powerful punch on the track but is the sweetest human being in person. She’s an amazing warm-up buddy and a diligent and fun athlete to be around. "Zoe is a true throwback---a three-sport athlete in a world of specialists. She has gotten so much from her participation in FH, Soccer and T&F, but she has given back even more. Her legacy is broad and distinctive as any of her 150 or so Red Devil teammates will tell you. " - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director

"Mackenzie has certainly made her mark on the UHS all-time leaderboard (8 times!), but perhaps her biggest legacy is her mark on her teammates as a role model for resilience and hard work and as a beacon of optimism and encouragement." -Laura Spivy, Asst. Coach
"All teams value and rely on people like Mackenzie. She takes full responsibility for her own contributions but also makes the entire team environment so much better for everyone else. These are skills that translate into any activity." - Jim Ketcham, UHS Athletic Director

"Eve's a role model for the younger hurdling squad, with fierce focus and calm as she prepares to run every race. Eve leaves it all on the track unlike any other athlete I know!" --Laura Spivy, Asst. Coach
