The study of French at UHS emphasizes grammatical accuracy, vocabulary acquisition and precision of communication as a means of achieving the close reading, analysis and appreciation of literary and journalistic texts. It is therefore important for our students to develop strong reading skills. The summer reading provides students with a glimpse of the curriculum and the opportunity to engage with the language before school begins, since these texts are usually the first encountered in the Fall. Therefore, we recommend you do this reading a week before school starts.

We also advise you to order your book in June because it can sometimes take more than two weeks to receive it.
