Each year, the Visual Arts teachers invite professional artists to display their work in the Jackson Street Gallery. The Professional Artist Series was conceived to expose the UHS community to contemporary art, concepts, and techniques that broaden our Visual Arts curriculum. In addition to showing their work, artists attend classes to give students an in-depth look at their work and practice. We have been fortunate over the years to have many celebrated artists come to our school to share their work and knowledge with us.

The Professional Artist Series does more than decorate our hallways; it enables our community to learn more about the current art scene while challenging us to expand our aesthetic and conceptual knowledge of the arts. The exhibitions reflect the core elements of our mission statement by supporting diverse perspectives and displaying a spirited pursuit of visual knowledge. We encourage you to take part in this program by viewing the exhibitions and attending the opening receptions for the artists.
