College Access Program

The College Access Program is a four-year college access enrichment program that broadens access to information and resources regarding college admissions for Breakthrough Summerbridge students in high school. The BTSB College Access program works directly with students and families as an additional resource to their high school’s college counseling offices and external organizations they may partner with as they prepare for college admissions.

Our goal is to broaden access to knowledge and resources to help students develop their theoretical “why” and develop a tangible plan to accomplish their ambitions. We supplement and support students’ preexisting college preparedness work with their high schools and families.

We provide BTSB students in high school with the foundational information and support needed for success in the college admissions process. We support the pursuit of enrichment programs and endeavors that illuminate students' academic and professional interests as they prepare for their future in college. Workshops can include College Readiness 101, College Exploration, Career Exploration, and more!

Students are required to attend all mandatory programming for the College Access Program, which includes Saturday workshops, evening panels, and weekend fairs.

NOTE: Only BTSB students who have successfully completed our middle school programming and are in good standing with Breakthrough Summerbridge at the time of 9th-grade summer graduation can enroll in the program. Students must matriculate into the College Access Program at the beginning of their 9th-grade year to qualify for the program.
