School Year Opportunities

Volunteer with BTSB this School Year!

During the school year there are two ways to get involved with BTSB:

  1. After school Tutoring

  2. Teaching Fellowship (*available to UHS juniors and seniors only)

School Year Teaching Fellows

This opportunity is exclusively available to UHS Juniors and Seniors who apply during the Spring of their Sophomore/Junior year. School Year Teaching Fellows participate in the BOOM, Dynamite course during REd Blocks.

This group is trained during REd A and REd B for the first three weeks of the Fall Semester. Teaching Fellows are paired together to teach and lead a class of 5-8 middle school students on Wednesdays after school. After completing the training, Teaching Fellows meet during one weekly REd block to prepare a Project Based Learning curriculum that they will teach after school. Teaching Fellows receive regular support throughout the school year from the Director of Programming and Instruction, as well as Instructional Coaches.

School Year Tutors

During the school year, BTSB offers optional “Homework Help” to our middle school students. Homework Help is held on Thursdays after school. Our volunteer tutors will support our middle school students with their homework in small groups.

Tutors can be high school students, college students or even adults. All tutors must attend a mandatory training session before supporting Homework Help.

To find out more, please fill out this form and our Director of Programming and Instruction will contact you.
